Job Opening: Choir Accompanist
Pleasant Street United Methodist Church seeks a pianist for a choir accompanist. The successful candidate will be able to play voice parts and accompaniments for anthems such as Coming Home by Joseph Martin, Offertory by John Ness Beck, Look Ye Saints, the Sight is Glorious arranged by Mark Edwards and Our Grateful Hymn of Praise by Christopher Gilliam. Anthems are routinely scheduled several weeks in advance of rehearsals. The expectation is that pieces will be learned before rehearsals and that sight-reading is minimal.
The choir season begins in September and ends in early June. Rehearsals are Wednesday evening, 7:00pm to 8:00pm and Sundays, 8:30am-9:15am, followed by the worship service at 9:30am. There will generally be one Sunday per month when the pianist is not needed and not every Wednesday rehearsal would be required.
Interested persons are invited to mail a cover letter and short resume to Pleasant Street United Methodist, 61 Pleasant St. Waterville, ME, 04901 or send a cover letter and resume via email to [email protected]
